Raaida Mannaa is a social innovation expert with more than 17 years of experience in over 60 countries worldwide. Skilled team manager and communicator, with vast experience in the academic, nonprofit, corporate, and social entrepreneurship sectors, focusing on impact, grantmaking, philanthropy, volunteering, and storytelling. Adept at designing and managing effective programs with a multisectoral approach; building effective networks and strategic partnerships, and working with changemakers, senior leaders, government officials, public figures, and the community at the grassroots level.
In her current role as the Director of Volunteer Impact (Knowledge and Innovation) at Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) she supports the organization's global network in better understanding and reporting the value of volunteer contributions, identifying new opportunities for growth, optimizing the volunteer journey, and maximizing the outcomes that volunteers contribute to Habitat's mission. She leads HFHI’s efforts to magnify the impact of volunteering by focusing on innovative and evidence-based approaches that drive the most community impact.
Raaida's career has been focused on using the influence of storytelling to address social inequality, empowering agents of change developing creative ways to positively impact their communities. She co-founded socialBaq, an organization fostering innovation processes through human-centered design methodologies. socialBaq is recognized as the first social enterprise in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Most recently, Raaida served as the Director of the Latino Community Foundation's Latino Giving Circle Network®, leading the growth and development of the largest network of Latino donors in the United States. In her past role as the Global Advocacy and Partnerships Senior Manager for the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), she led the creation of the Global Network of Volunteering Leadership (GNVL), a program to bring together national and regional structures working to strategically move volunteering forward. She currently serves as the Director of CLAVE, a forward-looking network of companies promoting corporate volunteering for the sustainable development of Latin America.
Raaida is the Founding Curator of the Barranquilla Hub of the Global Shapers Community, a network of exceptional young people created by initiative of the World Economic Forum. In January 2014, she was chosen as one of the 50 Shapers representing the voice of youth at the Annual Meeting of the Forum at Davos, being the first and only Colombian woman under 30 to ever participate in the event. Selected as part of the first group of Coordinating Ambassadors at One Young World, she co-founded red2021, a campaign linking youth volunteering commitments, and served as the Communications Coordinators for the Wake Up Call, an activism movement that engaged 27.000 people from 84 countries in one day.
As an international speaker, she’s been featured in formats like TEDx, Creative Mornings, FuckUp Nights, and TVMorfosis. Selected as a fellow of the Iberoamerican Leaders Program and the StartingBloc network, Raaida has served in the International Board of Directors for Partners of the Americas, a nonprofit connecting people, governments and organizations across borders, developing lasting solutions to the hemisphere’s toughest challenges. She serves on the International Council of Advisors of Global Dignity, an initiative promoting a worldwide conversation about the importance of dignity as a basic human principle, and is a member of the Alumni Council of University of Cambridge‘s Judge Business School.
Born in the Colombian Caribbean in a household with Lebanese and Brazilian background, Raaida inherently has a multicultural perspective, a curious spirit, and a solid commitment to promote social inclusion. She holds an MSt in Social Innovation from University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, an MA in Journalism from San Pablo CEU University in Madrid, Spain, and a BA in Mass Media Communication and Journalism from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia.
